Moniteur Jim Liebich has been fencing for over twenty years in the Bay Area.
He developed a love for fencing by starting out in a local community center class, like many of his students, and has enjoyed it ever since.
Jim strongly believes that fencing is a fun and wonderful sport that can be enjoyed at any age.
Jim began coaching in 2000 and eventually earned his Moniteur teaching degree from the United States Fencing Coach's Association (USFCA) in both foil and epee.
He founded En Garde Fencing in January of 2008 with the goal of providing high-quality fencing instruction in Santa Rosa and Sonoma County, and of creating a vibrant community of fencers in the North Bay.
He developed a love for fencing by starting out in a local community center class, like many of his students, and has enjoyed it ever since.

We blend historical and modern fencing techniques into a fun and safe format that allows for more contact and increased precision, while keeping all the fun and safety.
We study the old texts written by the greatest sword masters in history, such as Liechtenauer, Liberi, Silver and Meyer.
Then we blend in a progressive mixture of modern sword techniques in order to create a unique and fun class for the kids.
If your interests lie more in the martial arts, this program may be for you.

This class will emphasize learning the basics of shooting with simple bows.
The focus will be on development of skills and abilities over time with continuous practice.
Students of all ages will train in a safe, fun environment, and kids will learn to develop important life skills in the context of games and light in-class competition.
Cost: $20 Drop-in, or as low as $80 - $100 per month Unlimited Membership or $40 - $60 per month Limited Membership rate (depending on term of membership).
